Premature Ejaculation – Men’s Health Problem

A Brief History of Premature Ejaculation
It was suggested sometime in 1943 that Premature Ejaculation be classified as a psychosomatic disturbance. Studies have shown that as early as 1930, topical creams meant to anaesthesize the area and treat the problem were existent. In recent years, more and more healthcare providers and pharmaceutical companies have taken to developing more drugs and medications to help treat and improve this condition.

Different Types of Premature Ejaculation Diagnosis
Researchers have classified cases of Premature Ejaculation into 2 types: namely Acquired Premature Ejaculation and Lifelong Premature Ejaculation. Acquired Premature Ejaculation develops at a later stage in a man’s life. This may be due to psychological changes or relationship problems, erectile dysfunction or even other underlying health issues such as an inflammation of the prostate gland(common in older males aged above 40) or even a thyroid dysfunction. On the other hand, Lifelong Premature Ejaculation is defined when a male has suffered from the condition early on in life and the conditions appears to persist as the male gets older. This is the result of a combination of 3 factors:
1) Ejaculation occurring always or nearly always within 1-2 minutes of vaginal penetration
2) An inability to control or delay ejaculation during all or almost all instances of vaginal penetration, in some cases even ejaculating prior to vaginal penetration
3) Negative personal consequences arising from bad past experiences connoted with sex or stress

Symptoms of Premature Ejaculation
Early symptoms f Premature Ejaculation usually become apparent in young males during adolescence. When males start to experiment with sex and how their bodies function, most discover how to pleasure themselves and achieve ejaculation through masturbation. When masturbation becomes too frequent, it can lead to a feeling of overexcitement when young males are exposed to having sexual intercourse with a partner.

Common Misconceptions
The most common sufferers of Premature Ejaculation are males aged below 40. The most highly-affected group being young males below 22. It is thought that as men mature and are more exposed to sexual intercourse, they soon “grow out” of the condition. However, this is often untrue. While many men admit that the problem does become less apparent as they get older and acquire more sexual experience, a large percentage report little or no improvement in sexual stamina. This proves that Premature Ejaculation is not simply a problem that “goes away” with age though it might improve in some cases.

What you can do to improve Premature Ejaculation
Premature Ejaculation would appear to be the complete opposite of suffering from Erectile Dysfunction. It would seem that Premature Ejaculation is more easily remedied with DIY methods that prove effective in almost 70% of cases, often not even requiring a medical diagnosis or medical treatment in order to improve sexual performance. Besides putting into practice some of the more well-known methods such as the “Squeeze” method and the “Stop and Start” method, by staying healthy and exercising regularly, you will find that as your overall health improves, so will your performance in the sexual department.
